It's Bike Season!

This is my bike. I got it last year near the end of the summer. Isn't it pretty? Today I rode it to work for the first time this year. I've decided to set a goal for myself to ride my bike 92 days this year (no, it's not random, it's 1/4 of the days in a year). It shouldn't be too hard, but I think it will make me ride it more than if I didn't have a goal. 2 down, 90 to go.
Also, it seems like a lot of people are starting diets and I'd like to loose a little belly fat, so maybe I should start one too. Diets for me really just involve being more aware of what I am eating (yesterday, being on a diet meant picking most of the breading off of my onion rings.) Anyhow, I decided to look up how many calories I should ideally be getting per day. You always think that 2000 is like the normal, average amount. Well, I only get 1400! Harumph!

Stash, what stash?

So, I've always thought that I don't have much of a stash. Just a box under the bed with a few skeins in it, nothing too exciting. Then today I went looking for a particular yarn that I knew I had to start a project with. That's when I realized that my stash doesn't seem that big because I have multiple stashes. So here they are. 1. The current project basket. For all on the needles projects, recently finished projects and their leftover yarn and several random skeins that just got thrown in there when I was cleaning the living room.
2. Leftover bits of superwash wool.
3. Basket of mostly chunky yarns that I assembled together when I was inspired to make some funky hats this winter. (Number of funky hats made so far: zero)
4. Yarn that was selected from stash #5 because it was deemed 'superior' or 'inspiring' and that something was going to be made out of it "soon". The selection now seems quite random and I'm going to recombine it with the big box.
5. Project leftovers (mostly of usable quantities) and inferior yarn. This is the box that I have previously thought of as my stash.

In other news, a bird has made its nest right outside my sewing table window! It's really the perfect spot, very sheltered, what a smart little bird!

It's Dyeing Weather Again

So this blog was supposed to be about stuff I make, right? Whatever, here's some yarn I dyed last week.
